About Mac Dale

Mac is an emerging indie Filmmaker and a film studies major at Carleton University. He’s made the decision to pursue a career as a film director and is struggling to create films of an ever increasing level of quality. Along the way, he enlists the help of industry professionals who he’s met on set. In the film production industry, things are constantly changing and with every new production it’s a challenge to make a leap in production value and keep up while keeping up with rapidly changing technology. As an indie filmmaker, you’re constantly working to cut down costs, so when you can’t afford to enlist top talent you end up doing a lot of the work yourself to some degree of success. From all of his time working on sets, Mac’s always able to find a friend who’s an industry expert to help bring his indie filmmaking game to the next level and now he’s sharing their secrets with his audience.                 His podcast covers topics from sound design to editing techniques to film festival strategy and features Q&A with knowledgeable industry leading professionals from all over Canada who’re eager to share the best tips, tricks and industry standards. The most important information is then boiled down and detailed in the weekly blog post. Filmmaking is a team sport sport and Mac has made a commitment to helping others and being a valuable member of the Ottawa filmmaking community.
